K3 Vita-C: Aminopropyl Ascorbyl Phosphate
K3 Vita-C’s stability was tested in function of time in a 1% aqueous solution at 25˚C in comparison to straight Ascorbic Acid, Ascorbic Acid-2-Glucoside (AA2G) and Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate (MAP). The residual activity of each product over time show clear difference, demonstrating the superior stability performance of K3 Vita-C.
The long-term stability of K3 Vita-C in finished formulations further ensures no discoloration of the products upon storage. Storage stability tests of 1% solutions of straight Ascorbic acid and several Vitamin C derivatives were performed at 50˚C for 30 days. Ascorbic Acid, AA2G and MAP show clear discoloration, whereas the samples containing K3 Vita-C shows no discoloration.
K3 Vita-C is very effective in collagen formation. In-vitro tests show that K3 Vita-C outperforms straight Ascorbic Acid and other Vitamin C derivatives (AA2G, MAP, SAP, ATM and Vitamin C Palmitate). The in-vitro tests involve culturing of cells in the presence of the various ingredients tested and concentrations of procollagen Type I C-peptide (PIP) is measured.
